Milan High School’s sensational point guard Shaniqua Gray who is no stranger to success having led her Lady Bulldogs to state runner-up during her just finished senior campaign is now looking to the future. Tuesday the future became clear as she signed her national letter of intent to continue her career at Volunteer State.
Gray put up impressive number for her senior season leading Milan in scoring at 17.4 ppg and assist at 3.1 while being named All District, All Region, 1st team All West Tennessee and All State. She finished her career scoring over 1400 points and dishing out nearly 300 assist.
Gray will see her first action after signing this Saturday as she takes to the court as a member of the West team in the 2008 TACA East / West Senior All Star Game. Shaniqua will be one of two future Lady Pioneers in action, (Heather Miller of Mt. Juliet). Of the twenty-four players selected to participate Volunteer State is the only junior college with players in action and one of only two schools with two players in action. Twelve of the twenty-four participants have signed Division I scholarships.
