Some Vol State grads move on to new schools and exciting jobs and we may lose touch with them. Others keep popping back in to let us know how they are doing. Evan Espey was involved in just about everything on campus during his time at Vol State. Now we're excited to see these pictures from his graduation at Murray State. If you graduate from university after Vol State don't hesitate to send us an update on how you are doing. Here's a note from Ken to Evan:

The final score in the Softball championship was Chattanooga State 4 Vol State 3. In baseball the final score in the championship game was Walters State 15 and Vol State 9. Both Walters and Chattanooga were ranked number 2 in the nation on the latest polls.

The Vol State blog has grown quite a bit in the past year. We've won some awards and had fun trying out new things. Now we'd like to expand the blog by enlisting more student writers. To do this we're hiring a student writer who will help write material for the blog, and also encourage fellow students to write entries for the blog.
The job will include:
-writing for the blog
-taking pictures to use on the blog
-using other blog resources such as polls
-coming up with new ways to use and promote the blog
-recruiting other students to make blog posts
-covering events on campus for the blog
This is a paid part-time position operating out of Public Relations. The student should enjoy writing and be quite familiar with various blogs. Hopefully they may have some experience writing a blog, although that is not required. Basic Internet system knowledge is necessary. Blog posts will be subject to standards and editorial control by the Public Relations Office. Our goal is to have as much editorial leeway as possible for student postings, but college oversight and approval of topics and postings will be necessary.
Interested students can contact Eric Melcher to get more information or to schedule an interview. The position starts Fall semester 2008 and continues through the end of Spring semester 2009. Summer hours this coming semester may be available as well.
