Summer courses for kids at Vol State

Summer Camp courses are coming back to Volunteer State Community College this June and July. The classes will include Art Safari, Awesome Chemistry, Youth Leadership and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. The weeklong, inexpensive activities are designed for kids from rising sixth through eighth grade. Summer sports camps will provide fun instruction for kids in grades one through 12.

Most of the summer enrichment courses take place weekday mornings until noon. There will be 12 courses offered including: Acting Up-A Theatrical Experience, Living Biology, Beginning Golf, Sign Language, Spanish, CPR/First Aid for Family and Friends, Babysitter Certification, and Small Engine Repair. The sports camps cover basketball for boys and girls, softball and baseball. Vol State coaches and experts from the area will help kids build their skills.

The sports camps are $35 each for four days and the other courses are $89 for five days. Babysitter Certification and CPR are one day classes that cost $75 and $55 respectively. For a complete list of classes and to sign up visit the website at www.volstate.edu/FunSummer or call Vol State Continuing Education at 615-230-3358.
