Vol State Delayed Opening 10 a.m Monday and Faculty and Staff E-mail Update

Vol State will delay opening on Monday, December 13 until 10a.m. on the main campus in Gallatin due to the weather. The Livingston campus will be closed Monday. Any finals earlier than 10 a.m. will be rescheduled as will all Livingston finals for Monday. Faculty and staff can now access their e-mail by going to the Faculty and Staff page of the web site and using the faculty and staff e-mail link. Any old bookmarks of the old faculty and staff e-mail system will not work, you must access through the Faculty and Staff web page.

How much better are the road conditions really going to be by 10:00am? What a joke. Glad to see Vol State cares about the safety of students and faculty.

What a mess! As either a student or a faculty member, it is my advice to look out of a window or a door and perhaps take a walk in your front yard. The roads are covered in ice topped with at least three inches of snow. Wind chill is below zero degrees currently. I will not be going to campus tomorrow, and anyone with common sense will not be there either. It does not take a terminal degree to figure this out either.

PLEASE RECONSIDER CLOSING THE SCHOOL FOR JUST TOMORROW!! I CAN NOT MISS THE FINALS!! IT WILL ONLY BE 18 DEGREES BY 10AM AND NOTHING IS GOING ANYWHERE BY TOMORROW!! This is great, I live about 3 miles from the school, and my road and the road adjacent to it that has over 1000 homes off of it have almost zero traffic for this time of morning and are sheets of ice, which I discovered not while being dumb enough to drive on them, but while having my dog pull me across them while trying to get him back home from running away. Just like the floods, Who ever makes these decisions at VolState clearly does not get that ICE won't melt with no sun and temperatures below 18 degrees.

I think whoever made that decision is the dumbest person and i hope its not the head of education. to be putting our children in such a crisis. Have they never hear of black ice........and accidents and college students or young adults..... put those together and the first thing you get is that whoever made this decision clearly has no brain.

CLEARLY SOMEONE NEEDS TO GO BACK TO COLLEGE...OR SIMPLY SECOND GRADE. *IT'S HEARD, NOT HEAR.
