"I think that they are getting better after every game. We are learning to play together and I believe it will show in our performance" said Coach Melvin.
Coach Melvin said that he feels that the team has grown and improved as the season has progressed.

Meanwhile, the Lady Pioneers have a conference stand out player this season. Jenise Davis has been putting up the big stats and was recently highlighted in the Tennessean.
“They've played hard together,” said Vol State’s Athletic Director, Bobby Hudson. "Interim Coach Raphael Howard has done a good job with them. I think they're finish the season strong."
Sadly, the Lady Pioneers won’t be able to participate in the post-season tournament due to a Vol State rules violation during last year’s season.
“The players were informed last week and needless to say they were upset with the news. They have played so hard this season,” said Eric Melcher, Coordinator of Communications and Public Relations.
If you are looking for something to do tonight come out to support the Pioneers. The men's and women's team play Columbia State, with the women's team beginning at 6:00 p.m. and men's beginning at 8:00 p.m.
The last game of the season will be on Saturday, February 22, with the men's team beginning at 2:00pm and women at 4:00pm. So, come out and support both teams for their last home games of the season.
