Students: We have major road construction and parking changes in Gallatin for you to be aware of as you come back from Spring Break:
The main entrance to the Vol State campus in Gallatin will be closed until further notice. The rainy weather has caused the front entrance construction project to take longer than anticipated. Construction crews had hoped to be done over Spring Break, but it is now apparent that the closure will last longer.
Traffic may be backed up next week. Please give yourself extra time when going to class. You can enter campus through the Gap Blvd. and Greenlea entrances. The best parking may be the H and G lots near the back entrance.
Due to construction of the new Humanities Building, Parking Lot C (located behind the Wood Campus Center) will be permanently closed beginning Monday, March 16. Because this lot was comprised of staff parking spaces, changes are being made to provide spaces for faculty and staff to park in other lots. Please pay close attention to the marked spaces since changes have been made. Construction is underway on a new student parking lot open adjacent to Lot H. That lot will likely not be available until the summer, so parking will continue to be tight for the remainder of the term. You will notice many student parking space assignments having changed in Ramer Lot B, Warf Lot W and the Fine Arts Lot.
For your personal safety, please do not enter any of the various construction sites around the campus. A great deal of heavy machinery is involved in the campus construction effort making all construction zones dangerous.
We thank everyone for their patience as we make these exciting improvements to our campus.
